Health Affairs in Madina has fined 47 medical companies and pharmacies SR477,000 for breaches of licensing laws. Four medical companies and medical departments have also been closed down, while another two have been served warnings. Madina Health Affairs chief Khalid Yaseen said that the penalties were imposed for possession of unregistered and unpriced “medical preparations”, the offering of free samples, companies operating without a license, employing unlicensed staff or staff whose licenses had expired, and work premises with temperatures higher than permitted levels.
