RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has shut down a confectionery factory in Jeddah for using inedible raw ingredients. The ministry's inspectors also seized large amounts of glucose not fit for human consumption and which the workers used for making candy. All the seized materials were not stored properly and not kept in cold fridges. The workers themselves did not maintain hygiene practices and did not carry any licenses to work in the factory.
