CANBERRA — The Saudi Students Club in Gold Coast, Australia participated in the Multicultural Festival, which was held under the auspices of Gold Coast Municipality. The club pitched a tent, which included a variety of dates, traditional clothing and books in English about the history and culture of the Kingdom. Henna tattoo designs attracted visitors from Australia and other countries. The visitors were keen to keep placards on which their names were written in Arabic, and take commemorative photographs in Saudi traditional dress. The visits were concluded with roses. The supervisor of the festival said the Saudi pavilion and tent are among the best attractions in the festival. He thanked those who carried out and organized the project. Chairman of the Saudi Students Club Abd Rabboh Al-Zahrani said the club's participation aimed to highlight the real image of the Saudi society through acquainting visitors with Saudi culture and some historical facts. He said the number of visitors reached 300,000, the majority of whom were Australians. Doctorate student Hussein Al-Attas, who is one of the organizers, thanked Allah for granting them success to present the real image of the Saudi society before Australians. He said this is due to success granted by Allah and the support of the Saudi embassy in Canberra.
