Saudi students host Australian ambassado

The Saudi Students Club in Australia recently hosted a lecture by Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom Kevin Maggie on Islamic banking at La Trobe University. During the lecture Maggie defended banking transactions in the Kingdom, describing them as a source of reliability in the light of the failure of the global financial system and the real estate mortgage crisis. Maggie also addressed financial and commercial cooperation between the Kingdom and Australia. Khalid Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the General Assembly of the Saudi Club, and Yazeed Al-Qahtani, Chairman of the university's Saudi Students Society, presented the ambassador with a commemorative shield.
