RIYADH — The Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) to support its research on leukemia. The foundation has partnered with the organization and supported the initiation phase of its research project that focuses on improving the survival rates of patients with acute leukemia through high quality research that enables a better understanding of the disease at the molecular level. The Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundations are involved in a wide spectrum of humanitarian and philanthropic activities in more than 83 countries. Their main focus areas have been established around strategic initiatives, ranging from disaster relief and community development, to women and youth empowerment, as well as promoting intercultural understanding.
