JEDDAH – Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmad Kidwai will meet volunteers and community members on the consulate premises at 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday to brief them on the forthcoming the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention in New Delhi. India's Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs is organizing the event from Jan. 7-9. Tuesday's meeting was to ensure the participation of maximum number of Indian expatriates from Saudi Arabia in the convention. The consul general will also brief the meeting on the developments in the post-amnesty period. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on Jan. 9 every year to mark the contribution of overseas Indian community in the development of the country. Representative of the Indian diaspora from across the world are expected to attend the three-day event. — SG
