In a global event held for the first time in Saudi Arabia, Nissan Motors Company Limited launched the long-awaited and highly anticipated all new Nissan Patrol 2010. The unveiling of the “The Hero of All Terrain” was held on the sidelines of the Janadriya Festival by Dr. Saleh Kaaki, chief operating officer of Alhamrani United Company. The event included a presentation about Alhamrani United Co and its long-lasting and successful mutual relationship with Nissan Motors Company, and about the Patrol returns as an all-new seventh generation model. Dubbed as the most prestigious large SUV four-wheel drive vehicle in the region, the all-new 2010 version of Nissan Patrol SUV enjoys the highest levels of Nissan's customers confidence in Saudi Arabia. Kaaki announced the return of “The Hero of All Terrain” under the name of “The Hero Returns Home”. He further said “ the all new Patrol enjoys highest levels of safety, performance and quality, which distinguishes Nissan trademark. We have given special attention to meeting the needs of drivers and passengers in the Gulf region.” He added: “We are confident that the new version of Patrol will surpass all expectations.” The Patrol now returns as an all-new seventh generation model, building on its impressive history, but at the same time, incorporating a new platform, a radical new design direction, significantly enhanced interior comfort and luxury, powerful new V8 engines, a 7-speed automatic transmission and a new 4WD system. “The new Patrol is built with the high level of safety, performance and quality that characterizes the Nissan brand, and we paid special attention to the needs of GCC drivers and passengers,” said Carlos Ghosn, president & CEO of Nissan. “We are confident that our flagship SUV for the Middle East will exceed all expectations”, he added. A rigorous program of tests was carried out by Nissan engineers between early 2008 to the end of 2009, in the tough terrain areas close to the UAE and Saudi border in order to build the best possible Patrol to breakthrough the competition. Engineers first tuned and tested 200 prototypes for dynamic evaluation at the company's Motegi, Oppama and Tochigi proving grounds in Japan.
