JEDDAH – Just one day after five cars were burnt beyond recognition and one person was charred to death from a fire near a gas station in Jeddah, two trucks and four cars were gutted on a road leading to the Coastal Highway south of the city. Fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries in the accident on Wednesday. According to Civil Defense sources, a speeding truck bumped into another truck carrying four cars. The fire broke out after an explosion of the fuel tank of one of the cars. Jeddah Civil Defense Director Brig. Gen. Salim Al-Matrafi said that an investigation has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the fire. Three Civil Defense units were involved in extinguishing the blaze.
