Saudi Gazette report DAMMAM — The family of a man who authorities suspect was murdered by his wife has refused to accept condolences from the suspect's family, Al-Watan daily reported. According to a statement released by Eastern Province police, Al-Khobar police received a report of a body that had been dumped in a garbage container. Police rushed to the site, along with a forensics team, to examine the body. Preliminary evidence suggested the body belonged to a citizen in his 30s and signs of assault on the body were clear. The man's wife, a resident also in her 30s, was the immediate suspect and police were able to arrest her in Al-Kharj Governorate, near Riyadh. Sources claim the wife had apparently killed her husband with a meat cleaver when he returned from work in the early hours of the morning. The suspect was assisted by another person who police have not named and the two are believed to have put the body in a bag before dumping it in a garbage container and fleeing the area. The suspect, however, has denied all accusations that she killed her husband and has claimed a group of men knocked on her door, sprayed her face with a substance that caused her to faint and then killed her husband. Al-Khobar police have referred the suspect to a women's prison in the Eastern Province as investigations continue. The head of Eastern Province prisons, Maj. Gen. Abdulrahman Al-Ruwaisan, said the suspect will questioned by the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution. The man was buried in Al-Thuqbah cemetery two days ago.
