JEDDAH — After the success of Desi Entertainer's first two cruise trips, they organized their third multicultural Desi cruise Friday.
A large number of people from different nationalities were on board to witness commendable performances, participate in games and quiz competitions, the winners of which were given surprise gifts, among others. The program was hosted by Morad, Tanzeem Siddiqui and Ibrahim Malik. Kahkashan Siddiqui and Mohammed Al Mohammadi conducted the gaming session for couples and children.
Bran, a Philippine national, was very excited after winning the pushup competition held for singles.
HNL Band from the Philippines enthralled the audience with their energetic numbers while India's nightingales, Saleem sisters, lent their voices to popular Arabic and Hindi songs. Salman Saleem and Mujtaba Butt sang "Tum hi ho" from "Ashiqui 2" and Salman Khan's "Jeenay Kay Hai Char Din." Khwaja Danish came all the way from Pakistan and regaled the crowd by singing hit numbers.
The DJ of the night, Momo, played feet-tapping numbers and made the five-hour journey lively.
Indian national Ali was very pleased with the Desi team for organizing such an event in which his family and friends enjoyed a lot.
Tanzeem was announced as the new president of Desi Entertainers. Dinner was served by Shaheen restaurant. Communication is the only bridge to unity and to remove the communication barrier there is a need to step up and introduce traditions and cultures of different countries.
Mohammadi, founder, said that his team, comprising different nationals, always strives to do something productive for the society.
The Desi Team members, who made the event successful, were Mohammedi, Tanzeem, Asim Mazher, Malik, Mohammed Azeem, Shaista Baig, Kahkashan, Waheed Al Idress, Yousra Javed and Morad.
"We are organizing "Ladies Night 2 - Tribute to the Women of Today" specifically for ladies of different nationals to showcase homemade products, handicrafts, paintings, dishes among others November 8," he said.
