TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Jameis Winston threw for 393 yards and five touchdowns as No. 8 Florida State trounced No. 25 Maryland 63-0 Saturday, matching a record for the most-lopsided victory against a ranked team in the history of the Associated Press Top 25 college football rankings.
No. 3 Clemson also trounced an Atlantic Coast Conference foe, spoiling Syracuse's conference debut with a 49-14 win.
Florida State and Clemson, the two powerhouses in the ACC this year, will face each other in a huge showdown at Clemson on Oct. 19.
Elsewhere, No. 1 Alabama rolled to an easy 45-3 win over Georgia State, while No. 2 Oregon beat Colorado 57-16.
No. 4 Ohio State rallied to beat Northwestern 40-30 and extend the nation's longest win streak to 18 games.
No. 6 Georgia escaped with a 34-31 overtime win over Tennessee after Aaron Murray threw a game-tying touchdown pass with 5 seconds remaining in regulation and Marshall Morgan kicked a 42-yard field goal in the extra period.

Clemson's Tajh Boyd threw for 455 yards and five touchdowns in three quarters of work against overmatched Syracuse.
Boyd, who eclipsed his Clemson record for passing yards in a game by 27 and matched his school record in TD passes, hit Adam Humphries with scoring passes of 60 and 42 yards in the first quarter to give the Tigers a big early lead.
Alabama's AJ McCarron completed 15 of 16 passes for 166 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Crimson Tide past Georgia State.
