This is in response to the article “Why doesn't the MOL listen to us?” in August 20 Saudi Gazette. It should be realized that most of the domestic helpers are working 24/7 and are paid very poorly. Their remuneration is way below then what they have worked for. In addition, some of them are treated like slaves, while some complain abuse. The new terms and conditions required by the Philippines government is fair enough to safeguard them from this abuses. If you treat your helper well, I think there's no need for you to worry about these new terms and conditions. Juan Dela Cruz online response II On my recent trip to Dubai I found a lot of Nepalis working as cashiers, waiters and helpers. I found them efficient and friendly. I would definitely consider them while applying for a visa for a maid. Also my present experience with a Kenyan maid is also superb. I find her friendly and well mannered. A maid or a helper is a must when you have children. A housewife cannot be a cook, cleaner, teacher, hostess, nurse, laundryman, a mother and a perfect wife at the same time. Help is always welcomed.
