JEDDAH — The first Saudi sports exhibition for football will be held here on Sept. 14-20 at Jeddah center for Forums and Events. According to Nasser AL-Qushayri, chairman of the organizing committee of the exhibition, the event which is considered as the first of its kind and the most prominent in the Kingdom, aims to provide the civilized face of the Saudi sport and the development of the game of football in particular.
“It brings under one roof all the concerned from government and private sport sectors in order to cooperate and communicate between each other in seeking for the best projects and the latest methods for development of Saudi football. “We also want to achieve what we desire as Saudis in creating high standard football industry befit our Kingdom and contribute to record new achievements to take us to an advanced rank in the list of the world rankings,” Al-Qushayri said. A large number of official bodies, associations, sporting associations, officials of the Ministry of Education, football association for people with special needs, cities sports, Saudi sports media, specialized sports channels, football academies, private sports clubs stores, international sports brands and fitness clubs, sports construction companies, insurance companies, medical clinics and specialized sports companies will take part in this big sports gala. Al-Qushayri pointed out that there are many events that will take place, including special evenings for the Saudi sports leaders, and open dialogues with Ahmed Eid, Chairman of the Saudi Football Association, and heads of the Saudi sports committees in addition to sports seminars and lectures to highlight professionalism, investments in sports, privatization and school sports in Saudi Arabia. He noted that visitors will have the chance to meet in person with well-known sports figures such as presidents of local clubs, local and international football coaches, players, commentators, analysts and reporters. The exhibition, which will be inaugurated by Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal Bin Fahd, General President of Youth Welfare, also includes workshops, sports competitions, cultural activities, photo gallery, an honoring event of prominent sports figures in Saudi Arabia.
