RIYADH – Secret agents working for Riyadh police were able to identify and arrest six people who allegedly robbed SR6 million at gunpoint from an armored vehicle that stopped at a gas station in the capital city to replenish an ATM. In a similar case in Tabuk, police apprehended three people working for a company which refills ATMs and transports money to banks after they stole SR10 million from an armored vehicle. The Riyadh heist took place when the bank employees were about to replenish the ATM. A black car pulled over and three masked men carrying machine-guns stepped out, took bags full of money and sped off. The secret agents narrowed down their suspicions on six people who all had prior criminal records. When questioned, the suspects admitted to the crime and described how they carried out the operation after dividing tasks between them.
