Sana Abdul Salam Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — ‘Tarhati,' a premier Saudi brand for ‘tarhas' (head scarves), opened up a new store exclusively for Ramadan on Thursday evening. Rayan Jamjoom, founder of the brand, said: “While we have a store established in the Red Sea Mall, a lot of our customers said that during Ramadan, especially in the last ten days, it is difficult to navigate through traffic to reach crowded shopping centers. So we decided to open up a shop exclusively for the month of Ramadan, so that people can easily drive up to the store and browse the items displayed.” The store is located on Prince Sultan Street. Jamjoom added that while the ‘Ramadan shop' will remain open until the end of the holy month, as per demand and off take they may even extend it till the Haj season. The new store primarily displays the newly released exclusive Ramadan collection of head scarves. These included scarves of patterned and plain cotton and chiffon fabrics. Since they like to add a traditional touch to the Ramadan collection, Jamjoom explained that many scarves from this collection featured designs of Arab origin. The Ramadan collection followed the summer collection, which included brightly colored scarves made from light cotton. A few remaining pieces from the summer collection were also on display. Hiba Sheikh, a student at King Abdul Aziz University and a visitor at the opening, stated that she was pleased to see the variety that the Ramadan collection offered. “We don't tend to find a variety of colorful scarves in Saudi Arabia, so it is nice to see this collection. I am traveling to Turkey soon, and would like to browse different scarves to use on my trip,” Sada said. The grand opening saw the attendance of a number of guests and representatives prominent in social media, including Omar Hussain, owner of the YouTube channel ‘On the Go,' and Lama Sabri, a popular personality on Twitter.
