" A large number of children thronged the venue to be part of the "Let's Welcome Ramadan" event. RIYADH — Astariqs in collaboration with Saudi Gazette hosted “Let's Welcome Ramadan” on July 3 for children. Themed around Ramadan, the event featured various colorful and meaningful programs — songs, plays, and skits — for the benefit of children. Maha Tariq and Eman Tariq staged the acts and etiquette of fasting. The talented duo also displayed how to control anger during fasting. A beautiful song highlighted the a series of prominent events in Islamic history, such as the revelation of the first verse of the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) reaction to it, among others. The young ones also performed a group act on “Your Mother” and “Give Thanks to Allah.” Children aged between 4-10 showcased their creativity in a coloring and drawing competition, the first three winners of which were Nabeeha, Ehab and Zaid. The older children were taught the correct way of performing ablution and prayers. A general knowledge competition comprising three rounds was also held for the older children, and the proud winners were Nabah, Talal, Yusra, Fatima, and Khadija. The winners of both competitions received gifts sponsored by Dar-us-Salam Publications. — SG
