JEDDAH – Astariqs, an organization that organizes events for a noble cause, recently held an event “Live Painting and Puppet Fun” for ladies and children in Riyadh. The two-day event witnessed the participation of excited children, and mothers who looked forward to social get-together. Asma Tariq, Founder of Astariqs, said:” Greatest happiness on earth lies in making others happy, and the mission of our program is entertainment with a noble cause.” The highly anticipated puppet show was the show-stopper of the event. It was beautifully enacted by 11-year-old Maha, the protagonist, who played the role of Barbara. Eman Tariq, an 8-year-old puppeteer, played the role of Daisy, and Maha Khawja enacted the role for Sparky and Lilly. Another young talent Duaa e Zehra also gave a brilliant performance. The role of Eeyore was performed by 20-year-old Danish, a team member of Astariqs. The puppet show kicked off with Barbara introducing her herself and her puppy Sparky. She then invited a puppet band called “Happy” to perform for the audience. After the skit, puppet Barbara spoke about Eid and Haj holidays, and later hosted an Islamic Q&A for the kids. Gifts were given away to children who gave the correct answer. More funny and scary skits followed from the puppeteers, leaving the children and their mothers clearly enthralled. A painting workshop led by Fatima was also organized, and all materials related to art were provided by the organizers. The children were overjoyed when Asma showed her artistic skills by doing face painting for everyone.
