JEDDAH — Master English recently conducted a one-day training program at the Movenpick Hotel here. Fatamah Azam Ali, founder and CEO of Master English, spoke to Saudi Gazette and narrated the objective of the Masters English program. “Master English Program aims at those who teach on a one-on-one basis, such as kindergarten school teachers, special education tutors, home tutors, and business English tutors as well as EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instructors. “It is highly practical and covers techniques and skills along with many practical ideas to help one plan lessons,” said Ali. Lecturers and teachers of various universities and schools were in attendance at the Master English program. The tutor in the interactive program took ideas from the attendees on the use of authentic Internet materials required to teach on personal basis. Ali also explained about the “Ten Topic Techniques” and stressed on providing quality education through interactive teaching methods. Dahlia Yousni Aboulmaaty, academic coordinator and English Language Instructor at King Abdu Aziz University, said: “The Master English course was interesting as different levels of English language instructors from various background shared their experiences and knowledge of how to be a successful and effective one-to-one teacher.” According to Arlene Magsino, kindergarten teacher at the Effat University Child Development Center, the course was comprehensive and very helpful for a struggling teacher, especially in teaching English in a non-English speaking country. She appreciated and thanked Master English for hosting such a seminar/training that enhances the teachers' confidence. Shahaadah Abdul Jame from the Saudi Arabian International School said that the workshop was beneficial for all teachers. “It gave us an insight on how to work with ESL (English as a Second Language) students.” Lara Zeaiter, Nehad Sharah, Sarah Khan, Aatika Abdul Hannan, Kapasi, teachers of Children's Garden School, also liked the Master English program and appreciated the new techniques, methodologies and strategies of teaching. “The Masters English course was encouraging and motivating,” said Zahra Shahid. According to Ohoud Khalid, the trainer was well-organized and friendly. The attendees of the Master English program received certificates of participation from Master English, and upon course completion they received an official certificate from the London Teacher Training College, UK.
