My heartiest congratulations to the Indian cricket team for winning the ICC Champions Trophy with a nerve-wracking five-run victory over hosts England in the final on Sunday at Birmingham. It was India's second ICC Champions Trophy title having won the first one jointly with Sri Lanka in 2002. With this win Mahendra Singh Dhoni has accomplished something unique by being the first captain to win three world titles. Dhoni did a fantastic job as the captain of the Indian cricket team. A collective team effort resulted in the victory, but this historic win would not have been possible without players, like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin and Bhuveneshwar Kumar. There was excellent teamwork indeed under the captainship of Dhoni whose dedication and hard work brought spirit and the killer instinct to the Indian cricket team. He led the team from the front and ensured that India would win the tournament. Thanks team India once again for making India and all Indians around the world proud. The selectors too deserve a word of praise. Three cheers to team India. Jai Ho.
