JEDDAH — Zaldy Bacero hit back-to-back Bowler of the Week awards in sessions six and seven to gain the undisputed honor for being the first bowler to achieve four BOW accolades in this FEDBG-Friday Morning Bowling League Invitational Meet at the Bowling City here recently. After a 670 output in week six, Bacero continuously led his team with 686 in week seven underlying Ekis-4's dominance in the tournament. Bacero posted honor-winning scores of 235, 206 and 245 which inspired Sol Cuenca and Tommy de Castro to come up with 670 and 619 in respective high games of 209 and 205. Combined with 1,637 from Alma Bacero, Ruben Grino and team captain Ernie Geslani, Ekis-4 again celebrated with another Team of the Week achievement of 3,612 for 37-point session purse. Such superlative outings left nearest pursuer Pin Rockers at 219.5-189.5. Eloisa Fernandez bested all the ladies with her superb 587 contribution to Ball Care Team output of 3,485 which gave Mongoose 26 points, also hauled by Jimmy Mandingiado at 644. Mandingiado scratched 572 with high game of 213. BCT scored best in Game 1 for 8 points, but with insufficient push from Rod Lofamia, Melo Amano, Fully Tabio and skipper Emil Payongayong they could only bank that much. Richard Antonio shared jubilation by totaling 645 in leading Silver Strike (Bowl to win) for its 32 session points. Antonio lifted Silver Strike with games of 221, 202 and 222, inspiring Bobby Baraquel, Frank Afurong, Grace Funtilon, Obie Ycasa and team captain Edward Botardo to jointly support with 2,764. Botardo and Afurong backed up most at 602 and 610 with respective high game scratch of 203 and 210. Also performing remarkably in the 8th week was Fernandez who followed her 7th session with another BOW winning totals of 629, underscored by a 257 initial explosion. Fuly Tabio and Rod Lofamia contributed with 583 and 573 for the 24-point collection of BCT on 3,387 aggregate. On team performance, the 8th week was another superlative outing for Ekis-4 as it got another Team of the Week honor on aggregate of 3,541 with Bacero, Cuenca and Faisal Relativo exceeding 600 marks at 626, 617 and 608. Alex Flora, Malou Gime and Geslani combined for 1,690.
