JEDDAH — Some 450 Indians were fingerprinted on Tuesday, a day reserved for them at the Deportation Center (Tarheel) in Jeddah. Fingerprinting is the final procedure for the exit of illegal workers opting to go home for good while taking advantage of the grace period to correct their status or leave the country, said a consulate source. The consulate will get the exit-only visa stamped on the passports of these workers and call them to collect their documents in preparation for their journey back home, said the source. Indian consulate officials were present at the Deportation Center since morning till late in the evening to help facilitate the paperwork. Meanwhile, the consulate announced a revised delivery schedule of Emergency Certificates for those registered at the consulate. — SG
