Jeddah police raid alcohol distillery

JEDDAH — Police seized 220 large barrels of alcohol hidden underground in Al-Khumrah neighborhood in south Jeddah. Each barrel contained 250 liters of alcohol. The barrels were destroyed by municipal inspectors who accompanied police officers during their campaign. So far, officers have seized 10,320 barrels of alcohol in a matter of two days. Jeddah Police spokesman First Lt. Nawaf Al-Bouq said most of the individuals involved in these illegal activities hail from Africa.
