The Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in the township of Al-Sina'eyah in Abha have seized 50 alcohol barrels, each with a capacity of 250 liters – amounting to 12 tons – that were hidden in a trench in an abandoned farm near the village of Al-Salm.The seizure is considered the largest in the history of Asir Province. Members of the Commission were in a regular patrol when they suspected the location and raided it to find the barrels, quantities of sugar, gas cylinders and distilling equipment in a deep and long trench-like excavation. No suspects of making or peddling alcohol were apprehended. The Commission staffers destroyed the seized barrels. The Commission had seized 10 tons of alcohol last week, which turned out to be made using sewage water. – Okaz __
