Saeed Al-Khotani Saudi Gazette RIYADH — Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah launched on Tuesday a service center to provide emergency medical advice around the clock. Speaking at the launch of the “937 Service Center,” he said: “The establishment of the center is in line with the aspirations of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minster of defense, to render the best possible health services to citizens and residents in the Kingdom. “The center, which is currently in its trial phase, will focus on emergencies and medical consultations via all currently available communication devices, including smart phones, land lines and emergency toll-free numbers. “At a later stage, it will be evaluated by experts, opinion leaders and community members to improve and develop it further.” Al-Rabeeah said this center is a new channel to hear the voices of patients and their families. He said: “It is an addition to the previously established department of patient relations that once started with a handful of employees and is now staffed by 1,200 professionals stationed all over the Kingdom to hear from patients and their families on their health concerns.” The center will be run centrally from the ministry headquarters. Fifty-four employees will man the center over three shifts, 18 staff for each shift. The center will operate round-the-clock, even on holidays. It is staffed by highly qualified emergency physicians, nurses, technicians and administrators to respond to all callers' needs quickly.
