GENEVA — Shaihanah AlAzzaz, Chairwoman of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) board of directors, visited the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland, to enhance bilateral cooperation. During her visit, AlAzzaz met with WIPO Director General Daren Tang to discuss strategies for strengthening collaboration and supporting Saudi Arabia's international intellectual property (IP) ambitions. The meeting highlighted both parties' commitment to fortifying joint efforts. One key outcome of the visit was the signing of an agreement for Saudi Arabia to host the Diplomatic Conference to Conclude and Adopt a Design Law Treaty, scheduled to take place from November 11 to 22 in Riyadh. Additionally, AlAzzaz visited the Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in Geneva, Abdulmohsen bin Khothaila. Saudi Arabia has been a member of WIPO since 1982. SAIP plays a crucial role in monitoring commitments and developments in various IP fields, positively impacting IP activities within the Kingdom.
