RIYADH — The College of Food and Agricultural Sciences at Riyadh's King Saud University (KSU) held a two-week training for students of the Cooperative Education Program as part of an exclusive sponsorship deal with Al-Rabie Saudi Foods Co. Ltd. Fahd Bin Nasser Al-Baraka, Dean of the College of Food Agricultural Sciences at KSU, said the program, which was held under the title "Food Services in Hospitals, Food Processing and Testing," saw more than 33 students participate. The course prepares students to enter the job market. The program, which is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, included a number of lectures and practical applications in addition to short lectures by professionals from both public and private sectors. Thanking Al-Rabie for its sponsorship, Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Amri, faculty member, stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the private and public sectors so Saudi students can be better prepared to join the workforce. Monther Al-Harthi, CEO of Al-Rabie, said sponsorship for the program comes in line with the company's social responsibility commitments. “Based on the company's commitment to Saudi society and social responsibility, Al-Rabie has sponsored several programs like Philanthropy Society for Health Awareness (Our Lives) Award, the Purification program, Cooperative Training with King Saud University and Excel Student program in cooperation with the Department of Education in Riyadh.” — SG
