MAKKAH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has called on residents and citizens to exercise caution and stay safe as thunderstorms and rain are expected to continue in several regions of Saudi Arabia from Friday until next Tuesday. The Civil Defense emphasized the importance of staying in safe areas, avoiding places where floodwaters accumulate, such as valleys and waterlogged areas, and refraining from swimming in these locations due to the danger they pose. The public is also advised to follow the instructions issued through various media outlets and social media channels. The Civil Defense explained that the Makkah region will experience moderate to heavy rain, which may lead to flooding, hail, and strong winds stirring up dust, affecting areas such as the Holy Capital, Taif, Maysan, and other surrounding areas. Light rain is expected in Jeddah, Rabigh, and Khulais. In the Riyadh region, light rain and dust-raising winds are expected, impacting areas such as Afif, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Quway'iyah, and others. The regions of Madinah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain, while light to moderate rain is forecasted for Hail, Al-Qassim, and the Eastern Province.
