PARIS — Marseille beat Bastia 2-1 in the French league Saturday to postpone Paris Saint-Germain's title celebrations for at least another week. With three rounds left and a six-point lead in Marseille, PSG cannot clinch the title this weekend but it has a vastly superior goal difference to Marseille. PSG hosts Valenciennes Sunday. Andre-Pierre Gignac scored in each half for Marseille at Stade Velodrome to help keep the pressure on PSG. Florian Thauvin leveled for Bastia 53 seconds after the interval as Marseille conceded its first goal in eight matches. Marseille dominated and should have secured the points earlier, with both Lucas Mendes and Gignac hitting the crossbar. Bastia had a second-half goal ruled out for offside from former Marseille striker Toifilou Maoulida. Marseille has almost mathematically secured second spot. It is seven points ahead of third-placed Lyon which travels to Nancy on Sunday. Easy for Valencia Valencia eased to a 4-0 win over nine-man Osasuna to stay in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Spanish league Saturday. Striker Roberto Soldado scored his 19th goal of the season to open for the hosts in the 39th minute, and Ricardo Costa headed in Valencia's second one minute before halftime. Osasuna went down a man in the 57th when Alejandro Arribas fouled Soldado from behind with only the goalkeeper to beat. Ever Banega curled in a free kick three minutes later, before Osasuna's David Timor received his second booking. Jonas added a penalty in stoppage time when Fernando “Nano” Macedo handled in the area. Valencia closed to within two points of fourth-place Real Sociedad. Osasuna is two points above the relegation zone. Chievo plays it safe Chievo Verona is all but certain of playing Serie A football next season after inching closer to survival with a goalless draw at home to Cagliari.
