RAFAH — High-ranking officials from Saudi Arabia, led by Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor general of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), visited Egypt's Rafah Border Point on Wednesday. Their mission was to inspect the process of the humanitarian aid delivered by Saudi Arabia to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Dr. Al-Rabeeah was accompanied by the Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Osama Nugali, and a specialized team from KSrelief center, along with representatives from the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Palestinian Red Crescent. He inspected the progress and mechanism of delivering humanitarian aid provided by Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Rabeeah launched one of the relief convoys heading to the Rafah border point. He then visited the warehouses, overseeing the stages of preparation and management of the Saudi relief convoys, and examined the coordination procedures with the relevant authorities responsible for the entry of aid into the sector. They also visited the Rafah border point, examining the arrangements and the volume of relief convoys and the progress of humanitarian operations at the crossing. This aligns with the Kingdom's desire to expedite the entry of the maximum amount of relief materials to meet the needs of the affected. Dr. Al-Rabeeah explained that today witnessed an inspection of the Saudi relief aid, including food, shelter, and medical supplies, as well as ambulances transported through both the air and sea relief bridges. He noted that the total number of relief flights organized by the center to date has reached 15, with the first ship carrying a payload of 1,050 tons and marking the inception of the maritime relief bridge. He added that the second ship is set to sail next Saturday, while the third ship will sail the following Tuesday. He highlighted that this convoy, inaugurated today, comprises more than 326 trucks that will gradually move to the Rafah border and then to the Gaza Strip, in continuation of the Saudi relief convoys that entered the sector in recent days.
