EL ARISH — A specialized team from Saudi Arabia's King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), who are currently in El Arish, Egypt, met remotely with the Director General of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, Marwan Jilani. The meeting was held in the presence of the Director of the Palestine Red Crescent Society office in Cairo Dr. Mai Arif. During the meeting, KSrelief team clarified the Saudi relief and humanitarian efforts that include food, shelter aid, as well as medical materials and supplies that will be transported via an air bridge, in addition to another sea bridge that is being prepared. KSrelief confirmed that 7 Saudi relief planes arrived so far to be provided to people in the Gaza Strip. During the meeting, the team was briefed on the lists and types of aid, as the red crescent stressed that there is an urgent need for it. KSrelief will be provided with information about the humanitarian need and projects that the center can contribute to supporting in cooperation with the Palestine Red Crescent Society. The two sides have also discussed the cooperation mechanisms in delivering the Saudi humanitarian relief to Gaza, and ways of providing them to those who are in need for it in the Strip. During the meeting, Jilani expressed his gratitude for Saudi Arabia's government and people for their humanitarian role, and their endeavor to help and support the Palestinians in all crises they are experiencing. In turn, KSrelief confirmed the Kingdom's keenness to ensure that relief aid reaches those affected inside the Gaza Strip to alleviate their humanitarian suffering. The team also followed the progress of the relief convoys led by KSrelief heading to the Rafah crossing, and checked on the procedures for their crossing into the Gaza Strip, as some relief convoys began to enter through the crossing into Gaza.
