A Saudi relief convoy comprising of 7 trucks loaded with 170 tons of medicines and medical supplies, blankets and children's clothing, a generator as well as other quantities of food and baby milk reached Rafah crossing today to be distributed later to Palestinians in Gaza,Dr. Khalid Al-Hebshi, head of Saudi medical relief team told Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The convoy marked the start of the land-lift , which was launched by Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to help the brothers in Gaza who are suffering from a severe lack of medicines, food and clothes. He said that the Saudi Red Crescent Authority is playing a coordination role to facilitate the convoy entrance into the Gaza Strip as a part of its supervision over Saudi aid and assistance ordered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. Dr. Hebshi said the Saudi Relief Team in Rafah and Al-Arish in Egypt since the outbreak of war in Gaza, provided spare parts for broken hospital electricity generators which have been delivered through the Rafah crossing.
