The Transport General Authority (TGA) has called upon institutions and individuals involved in bus transportation activities (specialized and educational), cargo transportation activities, as well as vehicle towing activities to obtain driver cards. These cards enable drivers to engage in transportation activities, contributing to enhancing professional competence, improving the quality of services provided, and promoting safety requirements in transportation operations. The authority classified these cards into Temporary Driver Card, which is issued temporarily for drivers engaged in cargo transportation activities and holding a driver's visa and an international driving license. Its duration is 90 days and cannot be renewed, allowing the driver to engage in the activity. In anticipation of the upcoming Hajj season, the authority provides the Seasonal Driver Card, which is issued for drivers engaged in specialized transportation activities on a seasonal basis, specifically for those holding a seasonal bus driver visa. This card is intended for use during seasons such as Hajj and Umrah. Its duration is 90 days and can be renewed only once, allowing the driver to engage in the activity. In addition to the aforementioned cards, there is also the Annual Driver Card, which is issued for drivers engaged in all the mentioned activities annually to conduct the activity. Its duration is one year and can be renewed, allowing the driver to engage in the activity. Furthermore, there is the Restricted Driver Card issued for drivers involved in cargo transportation activities specifically for completing government transactions. Its duration is 30 days and is not renewable. It does not permit the driver to engage in the activity. The authority has indicated that those interested in obtaining driver cards can visit the website of the Transport Portal: Naql.sa and take advantage of all the available electronic services with convenience and ease. — SG
