JEDDAH — The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) warned of weather fluctuations in most regions of Saudi Arabia, starting from Thursday until Monday. Moderate to heavy thunderstorms accompanied by sandstorms with a speed of more than 50 km/hour, hail, torrential rains, and poor visibility will be experienced in most parts of the country. According to the forecast, the regions of Asir, Al-Baha, Jazan and Najran will be affected by moderate to heavy thunderstorms from Thursday to Monday, while their impact will be experienced on the governorates of Al-Sulail and Wadi Al-Dawasir on Thursday and Friday. Most of the governorates of the Riyadh region and parts of the Makkah region will witness moderate thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, while its impact will be on most of the governorates of the regions of Hail, Qassim, Riyadh, Eastern Province as well as in the Rafha governorate in the Northern Borders region on Thursday and Friday. The regions of Tabuk and Makkah, especially their eastern parts, as well as in Hail, the Northern Borders region, Al-Jouf, Riyadh, Al-Qassim and Eastern Province, especially its northern parts, will witness from Thursday stand storms with a speed of over 50 km/h. This could lead to almost no horizontal visibility, while waves rise to more than 2.5 meters in coastal cities, and their intensity would increase on Saturday and Sunday. The regions of Tabuk, Al-Jouf and the Northern Borders region will witness a drop in temperatures, with the lowest temperatures ranging between 2-6 degrees Celsius from Thursday to Saturday. The NCM urged the public to follow up on developments and information about the expected weather conditions through its media platforms, calling on everyone to follow the instructions issued by the concerned authorities.
