RIYADH — The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced the mechanism of booking e-appointment for trucks to enter Riyadh and Jeddah within the banned time during the holy month of Ramadan. TGA said that the trucks who are licensed in the activity of transporting goods can book the appointment via (Entering Cities) service at the Naql e-portal. The trucks will then enter the cities through specified lanes, in order to facilitate their movement during the ban time. The service will contribute in preventing the accumulation of trucks on the cities' main entrances, in addition to organizing and managing the trucks' flow. Additionally, it will raise the efficiency and quality of the digital services in the logistic sector. Transporters can benefit from the truck entry service to cities through the Naql e-portal: bce.naql.sa — through which TGA provides many e-services that support and enable transporters to engage in transportation activities, and the possibility of implementing services with ease. This mechanism comes after the General Directorate of Traffic (Muroor) announced the timings when trucks are prohibited from entering Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al-Khobar and Dhahran during Ramadan. The Muroor said that the trucks are prohibited from entering Riyadh during Ramadan from Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m., and the service trucks from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., as well as from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. On weekends, the trucks are not allowed to enter Riyadh from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m., and the service trucks from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., also from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. The trucks are also prohibited from entering along Makkah Road (Khurais), between Exit 13 to Al Safarat, east and west, and King Fahad Road, from Exit 4 to Algeria Square (DIRAB) north and south. As for Jeddah, trucks are prohibited to enter the governorate from Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., except on Thursday when the trucks are not allowed to enter until 3:00 a.m. On weekends, the trucks are not allowed to enter Jeddah from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m., except on Saturday, where trucks are forbidden to enter until 1:00 a.m. Water trucks and garbage trucks are excluded from the ban.
