JEDDAH — Kashif Shafeeq's century helped My Care & Hala (MCH) secure a win, while Dopco Stars continued its unbeaten march in the Summer Premier Tournament, sponsored by Hyundai Naghi and organized by WPCA here recently. My Care & Hala, put into bat by Islamic Development Bank (IDB), lost a wicket early, but Rahat Ali Choudhry then hammered 7 sixes and 5 fours to compile 73 in 27 balls as he added 163 with Kashif Shafeeq for the second wicket. Shafeeq batted with grit and determination to blast 105 in 53 balls with the help of 20 fours. Abdullah Essa, who hit 7 fours and 3 sixes, remained unbeaten on 62 and scored 68 with Kashif. Waheed Nisar hit an unbeaten 34 off 12 deliveries, while he added 54 with Abdullah Essa for the fourth wicket to take the total to 290 for 3 in 20 overs. Abdullah Shah took 2-66 while Ramazan had one. IDB, chasing this huge target, lost half its side for 56 to surrender for 93 to lose the encounter by 197 runs. Arif remained unbeaten on 26 and Yasir added 21. Anis Malik scalped 2-9, Faheem 2-11, Osama 2-27 as Hussain Bhatti and Zeeshan had one each. In another match, Dopco Stars, opting to bat first against Asian Plastic Factory (APF), plundered 222 for 7. Afaq played a fabulous innings of 82 not out in 42 balls. His innings was studded with 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Khurram, coming in at one down, hammered 57 in 28 balls with the help of 9 fours. Shahbaz Rasheed and Asad remained unbeaten on an identical score of 23. Abdulqayyum scalped 3-50, while Fahad and Irfan took a wicket each. APF, in reply, lost wickets at regular intervals to be struggling at 34 for 3 with only skipper Nadeem Amin struggling to make 64 in 46 balls with 8 hits to the fence. Later Maqsood scored 21 whereas Imran remained 27 not out to reach 157 for 7 still 65 runs short. Khurram took 2-25, Asim, Shoaib Ali, Shahbaz Rasheed and Ajmal Khan claimed a wicket each.
