MAKKAH - The supervisory teams from the Ministry of Commerce are carrying out inspection tours covering commercial establishments and sales outlets in the regions of Makkah and Madinah and the Holy Sites in order to ensure stocks of products and monitor and prevent price manipulation. These intensive field visits are within the ministry's plan for this year's Hajj season. The ministry teams have inspected more than 12,338 commercial establishments to ensure the sufficient stock of goods, as well as the quality of products and the price levels offered to pilgrims. These included more than 10,565 commercial shops, 944 jewelries and shops selling gold, precious metals and precious stones, in addition to 461 vehicle tire shops, and 368 petroleum service centers and gasoline stations. The ministry has intensified field visits to monitor commercial establishments, sales outlets, and roving vehicles loaded with foodstuffs and consumer goods at the Holy Sites, and verifying the availability of goods and products for the pilgrims. Daily reports are being submitted to the ministry with regard to the supply situation in the regions of Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites, with ensuring the progress of work as planned, in addition to monitoring price hikes and commercial violations.
