The inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce carried out over 10,000 round the clock inspection tours of all the sales outlets in all the Kingdom's regions during the period March 7–18, 2020, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Friday. These inspection tours targeted the warehouses belonging to importers, retail and wholesale traders and outlets for supply goods and basic commodities (hypermarkets), centers for the sale of medical products to verify and ensure availability of sufficient quantities that meet the consumers' needs. The objective is also to guarantee abundance in the market and prevent the emergence of a black market and price hiking. These tours showed that commodities, products and stocks are plentiful, prices are stable and the flow of supply of goods and products is streamlined as usual. The inspection tours come within the efforts of the Commerce Ministry's supervisory and inspection teams to monitor the markets and sales outlets in all regions of the Kingdom, check the supplies status and book violators, fraudsters and those manipulating the prices. The ministry imposes penalties on such violators. In this regard, the Ministry of Commerce calls upon all consumers to report any firm or sales outlet violating the regulations through the Ministry's Consumer Call Center (1900), or through the application of a Commercial Violation Report, or via the ministry's website.
