TAIF — A woman has accused her ex-husband of causing the death of their daughter, Al-Watan reported. Basmah, 14, was admitted to Taif Mental Health Hospital suffering from mental trauma. Basmah's mother claimed that her daughter was deprived of food and drink by her father, who also assaulted her, battered her and humiliated her. She said after noticing bruises on her body, Basmah's teachers informed the Human Rights Commission, which intervened in the case. The girl was then referred to the mental hospital. Basmah's mother also submitted a complaint to the minister of interior, asking for a committee to investigate her daughter's death. The death report states Basmah suffered from heart failure. — SG
