The Federation of Saudi Chambers organized in Riyadh on Monday a meeting between Saudi and Omani officials, business owners and companies, to promote cooperation in transport, technology, logistics and digital economy. Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers Ajlan Al-Ajlan said the meeting came in wake of a growing trend for continuous coordination between the two countries, enhancing economic cooperation, and exploring available investment and trade opportunities. He stressed the need to work to increase the volume of trade exchange of SR10.6 billion in line with the capabilities and economic opportunities of both countries. For his part, Undersecretary of Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology Dr. Ali Al-Shidhani said the Saudi-Omani bilateral relations are witnessing steady growth and prosperity in light of the ambitious economic visions of the two countries (Oman Vision 2040) and (Saudi Vision 2030), which include common denominators in economic diversification and reliance on modern economies, foremost of which is the digital economy, which constitutes about 10% of the global GDP. He added that Omani technology companies were looking forward to opening new markets, growing business opportunities and exchanging pioneering expertise with their Saudi counterparts. Undersecretary of Omani Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport Eng. Khamis Al-Shammakhi said the Omani delegation, which includes major Omani companies in the field of transport and logistics services, was looking forward to strengthening relations between the two countries in the various transport sectors. The Omani side reviewed the Sultanate's capabilities in the field of transport, logistics, communications, information technology and digital economy. As many as 14 Omani communications companies highlighted their capabilities and presented projects in an effort to establish a joint platform between the Kingdom and Oman to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
