The Tunisian strike on Brotherhood
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 03 - 08 - 2021

The only piece of domino that's left after the collapse of other pieces in the Arab world is the Tunisian Ennahda Movement, which is affiliated to the international Muslim Brotherhood outfit.
The constitutional measures taken recently by Tunisian President Kais Saied happened to hammer the final nail in the coffin of political Islam groups in the Arab countries, after the collapse of Brotherhood regimes in Egypt, Sudan and the rest of the Arab world.
Ever since the attempts made by Ennahda to change its mottled skin after the success of the Tunisian Revolution in 2011, it has remained under the cloak of electoral democracy brought about by the revolution that toppled former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
But the Tunisian people did not ratify this movement's claims that it has nothing to do with the Brotherhood. These were overt and misleading claims that Hassan Al-Turabi had maneuvered in Sudan before he was devoured by the coup, which he carried out in 1989.
In addition, the Tunisian people did not find any good trait that would make them accept Ennahda leader the "chameleon" Rachid Ghannouchi, who remained closely associated with the Brotherhood movement.
Tunisians have not forgotten the accumulation of bitterness they have suffered at the hands of Ennahda Party since the success of its revolution in early 2011. Ennahda's fingers were very obvious behind the assassination of Chokri Belaid in February 2013, forcing the resignation of the government headed by Hamadi Jebali in December 2013.
Terrorist attacks that destroyed Tunisia's economy followed, from the attack on the Bardo Museum to the attack on the Sousse beach, and the suicide bombing in the capital Tunis.
Throughout this period, the Ennahda movement remained a "rotten yeast" to obstruct all the governments that took over the administration of the country, ending with the government of Hicham Mechichi, who pretended to be independent, while his loyalty to Ennahda and its leader Ghannouchi was exposed.
Popular discontent against Ghannouchi and his authoritarianism in managing the parliament erupted at the time of his visit to Turkey, under the pretext of congratulating Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his re-election, and that is without informing the country's government and its president.
The Tunisian people found themselves in the grip of poverty, oppression, economic devastation, apart from the worsening coronavirus crisis. They found nothing from Ghannouchi other than his constant arguments with president of the republic, and the disruption of the functioning of government with his repudiation of its decisions and legislations.
Well, President Saied relied on Article 80 of the constitution for his decision to dissolve the Mechichigovernment as well as to freeze parliament for one month. This dealt a severe blow to politicized Islam and its Tunisian branch led by Ghannouchi, who wants to drag Tunisia into the Satanic Brotherhood alliance, which does not recognize neither geographical borders nor the governments of Arab countries and the regimes that have been accepted by the Arab peoples.
It is worthy to note that all the capable Arab countries, especially those that classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization, have come forward to provide the necessary assistance and support to the Tunisian people, in order to relieve them of the burden of the economic and health crisis, and what helps the country to contain the worsening crises, especially the epidemic.
It is a vital aid justified by Tunisia's important strategic location among the North African Arab countries, which have been afflicted a lot by terrorism, extremism, and the schemes of the Brotherhood. These countries have financed Tunisia and encouraged to prevent its destabilization so that the "Green" Tunisia enjoys freedom, civilian peace and social harmony, away from the schemes of these terrorist groups.
Finally, there's a need to thank Abeer Moussa for her voice and efforts to expose the behavior of the Ghannouchi group and to bravely confront the Brotherhood until their chairs were shaken and their goals were exposed, which are not hidden to those who know the plans of that group and those who are allied with it.
