The Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Geological Survey Eng. Abdullah Al-Shamrani announced Sunday the discovery of remains of an extinct primitive whale dating back to 37 million years, in Al-Jouf Region, northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Geological Survey said on its Twitter account that this historical discovery is the first of its kind, adding that it will serve local and international scientific research, especially in the field of fossils.
