RIYADH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia breached the 400-mark for the first time in more than four months with 404 new infections reported on Monday. On Nov. 23, 2020, the health ministry recorded 441 new cases after that the number of new infections began to plunge. The single-day cases in the Kingdom dropped to as low as 82 on Jan. 3, 2021, and they began to rise again gradullay. The ministry announced four more deaths over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 385,424 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,613. The ministry also reported 387 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 374,799. The Riyadh region continued to record the highest number of infections with 184 cases, followed by the Makkah region with 73 and the Eastern region with 66 new infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with six of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 4,012 active cases and 595 of them were in critical condition.
