Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Abeer Medical Group President Mohammed Alungal unveiled plans to give top priority to young Saudi men and women while hiring staff in the group's sales and marketing divisions. "At present, there are around 600 Saudis working in various branches of the group across the Kingdom. We plan to further increase the number of Saudi staff, by creating an exclusive Saudi female sales and marketing team," he said. Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Alungal said Abeer Group, a leading healthcare service provider in the Gulf, has an ambitious plan to hire more international trainers to provide continuous and intensive quality training to Saudi medical and non-medical staff, keeping pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and fulfilling its objectives. The group also attaches great importance to skill development of all sections of its staff members, especially Saudis. Alungal said that there has been a substantial change in the attitude of young Saudis, especially women, to take up challenging careers in the administrative and marketing fields in the health sector. "We pin great hope on the productivity, caliber and professional excellence of our Saudi staff. Hence, the group wants to enable the native employees to further improve their professional and communication skills by giving them all the opportunities," he added. Meanwhile, Alungal distributed certificates to those staff members of the group who have completed professional certificate courses. Certificates were given away to 32 graduates, including nine Saudis, who are specialized in operations and customer relationship management, with an accreditation from the European International University (EIU). Alungal also handed over the documents of Memorandum of Association (MOA), signed between EIU and the Abeer Academy, an initiative of Abeer Medical Group, to conduct the one-year-long course. Speaking on the occasion, Alungal said the genuine interest shown by all Saudi and other staffers in learning new things and enhancing their skills is extremely promising for the group. Abeer Academy is conducting the course with the aim of developing professional skills and efficiency of the group's employees in their respective professional fields, he added. Prominent international trainers led various sessions of the course. Course Director and Group Training Consultant Rashid Gazzali delivered the introductory speech at the function, presided over by Abeer Group Vice President for Strategic Planning Dr. Jemshith Ahmed. European International University Admission Officer Nina Vibowo delivered the graduation speech. Group Vice President for operations Dr. Afsar Ehtisham and Senior HR & Admin Manager Khlood Ahmed Bayazeed offered their felicitations. The course participants — Mohammad Abdulrahman Yusuf (Hiba Ruwais), Shiny Aplose (Abeer Bawadi), Mian Mohammad Waqar (Abeer Aziziya), Sujit Babu (Abeer Bawadi) and Mohammad Sabith (Corporate Office) were awarded the Chairman's Medal for Excellence. Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Dr. Jemshith Ahmed said that the group has embarked on a great mission of attracting and embracing professional ideas and thoughts of young Saudi staffers and integrating them into the work culture of the group. "We have a scheme to attract young qualified Saudis to key positions with giving them intensive training in healthcare operation and customer service fields. Hence, our programs focus on developing extra skill sets for communications, problem solving and conflict resolution, apart from enhanced awareness about the new trends in the health industry." He also noted the tremendous response from the part of young dynamic Saudis to take up jobs in the sales and marketing areas, especially in event management and handling various social media platforms.
