JEDDAH — Hala White, Otex, Orbital and ATS scored thrilling wins in Hyundai Morning Tournament being organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) here. In the first match, Hala Academy White beat ALJ Toyota by 2 wickets. Batting first, ALJ Toyota scored 129-5 as Basheer top scored with 55, while Nazeer hit an unbeaten 24. Adil took 2-19. Hala Academy White achieved the winning target of 130 off 105 balls for the loss of 8 wickets. Perwez made 38, Sohail 27 and Zohaib remained unbeaten on 20. Arif grabbed 4-15 and Imran 2-21. The second match saw ATS score a 7-run win over Al-Karam. ATS had a brisk start with skipper Ayaz making 39 and Naeem scoring 41, but it could not maintain the momentum and could score only 167. Riaz was 21 not out as Sameer hit 20. Al-Karam found Haroon in prime touch as he hammered 69 off 38 balls (4 sixes and 6 fours) and Khaled made 36. None of the other batsmen could get to double digit as the team was bowled out for 160. Samer took 2-14 and Joha 2-35. In another match, Orbital Horizon beat Elite-XI by 5 wickets. Batting first, Elite-XI was bundled out for 125 as Tarique Butt sliced through the batting lineup to take 5-20. Moiz had 2-25 and Farid Afridi got 2-26, while Asim hit 34 and Amjad 31. In reply, Orbital Horizon reached the target of 126 for the loss of 5 wickets. Farid Afridi remained unbeaten on 50 and Kashif made 22. Kareem took 2-25. Another match saw Otex get the better of MQ Group by 12 runs. Batting first, Otex made 142-9 as Irfan and Naeem contributed 29 each. Khaleel Dawood grabbed 3-26, Javeed 3-28, while Shakil took 2-20. MQ Group was bowled out for 130. Al-Saudi-XI, meanwhile, was declared winner against Jeddah Royals on technical grounds.
