RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Wednesday recorded 416 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 346,047, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. According to the ministry's statement, 19 more died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 5,348. The ministry also reported 433 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 332,550 with the recovery rate rising to 96.09 percent. Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest with 75 followed by Riyadh with 49, Makkah with 47 infections. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. According to the ministry's statement, a total of 58,561 coronavirus tests were conducted over the past 24 hours. There are currently 8,149 active cases, out of which 769 are critical, the statement added.
