RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Monday recorded 357 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 345,232, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. According to the ministry's statement, 17 more died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 5,313. The ministry also reported 361 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 331,691 with the recovery rate rising to 96.07 percent. Of the new cases, Madinah reported the highest with 61 new infections, followed by Riyadh with 36 Makkah with 32 and Jeddah with 12. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. With the drop in new coronavirus infections, active cases have also fallen sharply with 8,228 reported on Monday, out of which 784 are critical.
