RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Monday registered 381 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 342,583, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. According to the ministry, 16 more died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 5,201. The ministry also reported 357 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 328,895 with the recovery rate rising to 96 percent. Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest number of cases with 60 infections followed by Yanbu with 42, Makkah and Riyadh with 27 infections each. Jeddah continued to report less than 10 cases with only 8 recorded on Monday. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. Active cases have also fallen significantly with 8,487 reported on Monday, out of which 844 are critical.
