RIYADH — Saudi Arabia reported 621 new coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours, taking the total infections to 327,551, ministry of health said on Wednesday. A total of 982 new recoveries were also recorded. Thirty-one new fatalities were also reported. The total virus-related deaths now stand at 4,369, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying. The total number of recoveries was 306,004. There are 17,178 active cases, out of which 1,238 are in critical condition, the spokesman said. Makkah had the highest number of 88 cases on Wednesday. There were 58 infections in Jeddah, 41 in Riyadh, 37 in Hufof, 36 in Dammam, 34 in Madinah, 33 in Yanbu, and 26 in Al-Mobarraz The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. The Kingdom confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 2 via a Saudi national returning from Iran.
