New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia fall below 700-mark for first time in months

RIYADH — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia is continuing its steady decline, with 687, the lowest in months, recorded on Friday, according to a statement from the Kingdom's Ministry of Health.
The ministry also announced 24 new deaths due to complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
This bring the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom so far to 324,407 cases and virus-related deaths to 4,213
The number of daily confirmed cases has shown a gradual decline for the past two months with no Saudi city reporting more than 100 cases per day.
Makkah recorded 72 new cases followed by Dammam with 49, Jeddah with 48, Madinah with 42, and Riyadh with 37.
There are currently 19,261 active cases, 1,368 of which are in critical care units.
The ministry also announced that a total of 935 patients have completely recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 300,933, with the Kingdom's recovery rate rising past 92 percent.
