KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Monday announced 805 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 90,387 cases, according to a statement from the health ministry's official spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad carried by Kuwait News Agency. The ministry also announced two more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 546. Giving a break-up of area-wise cases, the spokesman said that 221 new infections were detected in Hawalli governorate, 201 in Ahmadi, 515 in Farwaniya, 135 in Asimah and 93 in Jahra. There were currently 8804 patients receiving necessary treatment out of whom 90 were in intensive care units, he added. The number of coronavirus tests conducted over the past 24 hours was 4,324, raising the total number of COVID-19 examinations done so far in the country to 648,051. Earlier in the day, the health ministry said a total of 516 more patients had completely recovered, raising the number of recoveries to 81,037.
